Introduction

The Chambroad Technology Award is a national industry award for science and technology established by the Charity and Filial Piety Commonweal Foundation of Le’an Shandong and funded by the Chambroad Holding Group. Jointly organized by the Foundation and the Chinese Chemical Society, it aims to recognize talents who have made outstanding contributions to the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering and materials, and inspire more researchers to embrace innovation.


Since its establishment in 2019, Chambroad Technology Award has attracted participation from over 100 academicians and more than 1,000 university and school leaders in the organization, nomination, and selection procedures. Of all applications received, 94.59% came from universities in the Project 985, and 83.95% came from universities in the Project 211. A total of 421 winners were selected, represented by Academician Liu Zhongmin (winner of the 2020 Chambroad Technology Excellence Award) and Liu Zhongfan (winner of the 2022 Chambroad Technology Excellence Award).

In 2020, the paper Super-durable Ultralong Carbon Nanotubes, authored primarily by Bai Yunxiang, was published in the prestigious journal Science. The team developed an acoustic resonance test system to measure the fatigue resistance of individual ultralong carbon nanotubes. Their research unveiled extraordinary fatigue resistance and a unique fatigue failure mechanism that differs from traditional materials.

To ensure the Chambroad Technology Award selections are unbiased and objective, Chambroad has partnered with the Chinese Chemical Society to form “Scientific Committee for Chambroad Technology Award” (hereinafter referred to as the “Scientific Committee”), “Organizational Committee for Chambroad Technology Award” (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizational Committee”), “Evaluation Committee for Chambroad Technology Award” (hereinafter referred to as the “Evaluation Committee”), and “Chambroad Technology Award Secretariat” (hereinafter referred to as the “Secretariat”).


The Scientific Committee, serving as the oversight and advisory authority for the awards, comprises esteemed domestic scientists and high-ranking professionals in the field of science and technology. The Organizational Committee, responsible for award management, and the Evaluation Committee, which handles award evaluations, both consist of distinguished industry experts. The Secretariat, a branch of the Organizational Committee, manages the day-to-day operations of the Chambroad Technology Award.
