Research Interests: Mainly optical micro and nano-fabrication, dielectric superlattices, and nonlinear optics, including the construction of femtosecond laser direct-write systems; preparation of 1D, 2D, and 3D nano-ferroelectric domain structures; nonlinear frequency conversion, nonlinear beam shaping, nonlinear holographic imaging, etc. based on nonlinear photonic crystals.
Achievements: Xu Xiaoyi developed a novel femtosecond laser polarization technology targeting lithium niobate crystals using the localized thermoelectric field generated by light-matter interaction. She realized 3D nano-ferroelectric domain polarization within crystals with high coercive fields for the first time.
